ECHA's Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) under the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) officially announced the hazard classification of glyphosate on May 30, 2022 according to the latest revised work schedule.
    Final conclusion
    .

The Risk Assessment Committee (ECHA's Committee for Risk Assessment, RAC), based on sufficient evaluation and demonstration of the existing evidence, finally believes that glyphosate should continue to maintain the original hazard classification, that is, only serious eye damage (Eye Dam.
1, H318) and hazard classification for long-term toxicity to aquatic organisms (Aquatic Chronic 2, H411)
    .

Among them, the most critical point in the EU re-evaluation process of glyphosate is that the RAC and the previous US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), the FAO/WHO Joint Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR) and other institutions reached the conclusion.
Consistently, it was confirmed that glyphosate should not be classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction
    .

It should be noted that the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) characterized glyphosate and glyphosate preparations as possibly carcinogenic to humans in 2015, causing widespread concern about the safety of glyphosate worldwide
    .

Due to the continuous disputes, the current re-evaluation of glyphosate in the EU has continued to advance in accordance with the adjusted new work plan, and Ruiou Technology will continue to follow up
    .

    Adjusted Glyphosate Reassessment Work Schedule

    · In December 2019, GRG submitted an application for re-evaluation
    .

    · In June 2020, GRG submits a complete updated dossier and AGG begins an initial assessment
    .

    · In June 2021, AGG submits a re-assessment dossier and a Harmonized Classification and Labeling (CLH) report to EFSA and ECHA, respectively
    .

    · In August 2021, AGG submits an updated re-assessment dossier and CLH report to EFSA and ECHA after an initial integrity review
    .

    · In September 2021, EFSA and ECHA will hold simultaneous public comments
    .

    · Public comment closes in November 2021
    .

    · First half of 2022:

    a.
The AGG takes full account of the comments of the public comment and the feedback from the applicant (GRG) and member country experts on each public comment
    .

    b.
EFSA and ECHA examine all comments from the public, applicants (GRGs) and Member State experts
    .

    c.
EFSA requests the GRG to provide additional information to finalize the data package required for the glyphosate re-evaluation, and transmits the identified action plan to be supplemented with additional information to the AGG for its responsibility to follow up
    .

    · On April 21-22, 2022, the RAC discussed recommendations on CLH for glyphosate
    .

    · From May 30 to June 3, 2022, the RAC will hold a meeting to discuss the hazard classification of glyphosate and agree on when the RAC needs to pass on the final opinion to EFSA
    .

    · At the end of September 2022, the AGG will send another updated reassessment dossier to EFSA based on the defined action plan and after evaluating the additional information provided by the GRG
    .

    · In November-December 2022, EFSA and EU Member State experts will meet for peer review of the updated glyphosate re-review dossier
    .
The AGG will then further review the re-review dossier based on the results of the peer review, after which EFSA will draft the peer review conclusions and conduct follow-up consultations with the AGG and member country experts
    .

    · In July 2023, the conclusions of the EFSA peer review will be finalized and made available to the European Commission, Member States and the GRG
