WFN Strategies has been awarded a contract by Canada's Kativik Regional Government to provide a cable path survey
for the proposed Eastern Arctic Undersea Fiber Optic Network (EAUFON).
The Eastern Arctic submarine fiber optic network is about to undergo a cable path survey
EAUFON is a planned submarine fiber with landing sites
in multiple communities in Canada's Nunavik region.
WFN Strategies said EAUFON was originally scheduled to be operational in 2020, followed by multiple feeder extensions
.
While final funding has not yet been approved, initial preparations have begun to expedite the process
of conducting a pathway survey in open water in 2018.
