    The domestic 220 kV cross-linked polyethylene insulating cable demonstration project passed the acceptance

    On December 16, the first domestic 220 kV cross-linked polyethylene insulating cable demonstration project with a total length of 11 kilometers successfully passed the review and acceptance, marking that China has mastered the independent and controllable technology of crosslinked polyethylene insulating material for high-voltage cables, and realized the large-scale production and engineering demonstration application
    of domestic materials.

    It is understood that with the rapid development of China's national economy and electric power industry, high-voltage level, large-length, large-section and high-reliability power cables have become the main solutions
    for power grid construction and urbanization development.

    China has realized the localization of 500 kV and below voltage level high-voltage cable manufacturing technology, however, in addition to the use of domestic insulating materials for 35 kV and below voltage level cables, cross-linked polyethylene insulation materials for high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage cables have always relied on imports, and there are risks
    such as high product prices, long supply cycles and unstable supply.

    In order to solve the technical problems, China Southern Power Grid Corporation organized the South Grid Research Institute and Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau to cooperate with the upstream and downstream enterprises of the power cable industry chain, and set up a technical research team including cable insulation material manufacturers, cable manufacturing enterprises, cable professional test and testing institutions and power grid users, and achieved major technological breakthroughs
    in this field after years of concentrated research.

    In July this year, the project results passed the new product technology appraisal of the China Machinery Federation, and the appraisal committee composed of industry experts unanimously agreed that the comprehensive performance index of the product reached the international advanced level
