Danish green energy giant Ørsted announced on Tuesday its intention to develop offshore wind projects
of up to 1.
6 GW in South Korean waters.
The projects will be located more than 70 kilometers (43.

Ørsted revealed that the company has made progress in collecting all relevant data by deploying four floating lidar off the coast of Incheon earlier this year, and has begun engaging with local communities and the fishing community for their input
.
Under the licensing process, offtake agreements with Korean utilities and a final investment decision, Ørsted can start commissioning its wind farms
from 2026.
The Danish company said the Incheon project will be a multi-trillion-won investment and will provide clean energy
to 1.
4 million South Korean households.
Matthias Bausenwein, President of Ørsted Asia Pacific, said: "Ørsted's project in Incheon will support Korea's booming offshore wind industry and contribute to
the government's goal of 12GW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2030.
