    in recent years.
    The offshore installation of the submarine cable between Guantánamo and the landing site operated by the Puerto Rican government was successfully
    completed by Telecom's IT Intrepid cable ship.

    The 1,400-kilometre-long system is scheduled to enter commissioning in December 2018 and will be commissioned
    in early 2019.
    This is the second submarine cable system deployed by Xtera for DISA, the first of which was commissioned
    in 2015.
