In June 2022, the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the China Plastics Processing Industry Association signed a contract for the elimination of HCFCs with 12 rigid polyurethane foam manufacturers.
This is the second phase of China's polyurethane foam industry.
Second batch of projects

This batch of project enterprises completed the verification of HCFC-141b consumption in the baseline year by the end of 2019
.
Among these 12 enterprises, there are 4 polyurethane sheet manufacturers, 2 spray coating enterprises, 5 pipe insulation manufacturers, and 1 solar water heater manufacturer
.
Twelve companies have selected low-GWP alternative technologies such as pentane, water, and HFO, and eliminated a total of 1,067.
646 tons of HCFC-141b.
While making positive contributions to the protection of the ozone layer, they have effectively avoided greenhouse gas emissions exceeding 770,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
