    Recently, Rudzka et al.
published online at The Plant Cell a report titled
Arabidopsis RNA processing body components LSM1 and DCP5 aid in the evasion of translational repression during Cauliflower mosaic The scientific paper on virus infection discovered how cauliflower mosaic virus uses Arabidopsis RNA processing body components to evade translation inhibition

Viruses are unique in that they are able to reuse and recycle host proteins and other components for their use
    .
Cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) forms a special structure called a viral factory within host cells to promote efficient replication and evade defenses
    .
The virus factory is made up of viral proteins, particles, and nucleic acids, but many host proteins and ribosomes are also assembled into these structures
    .
Based on knowledge gained in the animal field, RNA particles, including stress particles and processors, are at the forefront
    of viral disease regulation.
Several particle localization proteins directly interact with the virus and affect viral replication

    We investigated the role of
processed body composition in CaMV infection.
We wanted to elucidate this interaction in two ways: how does CaMV infection affect the localization and abundance of processed body composition, and how do these proteins affect CaMV replication, especially the production of viral proteins?

During CaMV infection, decapin DCP5 and LSM1 are localized to viral factories
    .
In Arabidopsis dcp5 and lsm1 mutants, CaMV DNA and protein accumulation decreased, but RNA levels did not
    .
We found that viral RNA was not a target for LSM1-mediated capping, and RNA stability was not compromised
    in either mutant.
We examined dcp5 and lsm1 single mutants and their dual mutants with RNA-dependent RNA polymerase 6 (rdr6) and found that there were fewer
viral RNAs associated with ribosomes in single mutants rather than double mutants.
Thus, processed body proteins help the virus evade translation inhibition
    of RDR6.

It is unclear how RDR6 mediates translation inhibition of viral RNA in the absence of DCP5 or LSM1
    .
Elucidating the role and exact mechanisms of viral factories and viral proteins in this interaction will help to further understand plant viral infection
    .
