"This week, the amount of benzene entrained in the 17,000-unit benzene stripper dropped from 800 ppm to about 100 ppm, and the adjustment effect was surprisingly good!" On July 10, Chen Gan, a process technician of the caprolactam unit of the Caprolactam Department of Baling Petrochemical, checked the data trend chart and communicated with the tackling problems.

In recent years, under the influence of various factors, the raw benzene consumption of the 17,000 units of the three caprolactam plants in this department has remained high

They acted quickly, divided labor and cooperated, collected and sorted out the benzene consumption data of the installations in recent years, went to the site to check the pipelines and valves one by one, compared the equipment parameters of the benzene stripper and other equipment in the same industry, discussed and studied with the design unit, and proposed Eight optimization and improvement suggestions, such as replacing the bottom liquid stripper and increasing the waste benzene recovery process, were confirmed and verified one by one

"As soon as the research team was established, I made an electronic signboard to record and track the volume of benzene storage tanks, liquid level gauges, and the operation effect of the benzene stripper every day, so as to find problems from the data as soon as possible

At the end of last year, the amount of benzene entrained in the benzene stripper was relatively high.

"We have never written an overhaul and leak elimination plan before.

At the beginning of June, the 27000 units of caprolactam were transformed and put into use and the stripping tower was transferred to the 7000 unit (another set of caprolactam unit) process, and the amount of benzene entrained in the benzene stripper was reduced from 1300ppm to 800ppm.

Before that, the 27000 unit unit had two sets of benzene distillation processes in operation.

In late June, Wang Wei and Xu Zhengjian, who were in charge of the on-site adjustment during the renovation of the condensed water of the three stripping and condensing towers, constantly switched the gas phase process flow of the stripping tower to observe the temperature and heat exchange effect of the stripping tower under the high temperature

On July 2, after the transformation of the 17,000-unit stripping tower transfer process, the load of the benzene stripper was unstable, and the consumption of pure benzene rebounded

In the past six months, 1,700 units have reduced benzene and achieved a profit of 720,000 yuan.
