Recently, Omar Gutierrez, the chief executive of Neuquen, Argentina, announced that the trans-Andean pipeline, which starts from the province and transports 100,000 barrels/day of crude oil to Chile, will resume operations in 2022
It is reported that the Trans-Andean pipeline was constructed in the 1990s by Argentina and Chile’s state-owned oil companies YPF and ENAP, respectively, to supply crude oil from the Neiwuken oil field to the Biobio refinery in southern Santiago
YPF CEO Sergio Afronti said that with the development of the Wakamuerta oil field and the increase in production, the company is expected to start exporting crude oil from the middle of 2023
