Recently, the African Renewable Energy Fund announced that it has raised US$1.
6 million
for Kazang Solar, a solar home in Zambia.
Azuri, a leading commercial supplier of pay-as-you-go solar home systems for off-grid homes in Africa, has been working
with Zambia's Kazang since 2016.
The investment will help Kazang Solar deliver affordable Azuri Quad solar home lighting products
to more than 7,000 off-grid customers in rural Zambia.
Kazang Solar is one of
three companies funded by the UK's Department for International Development to receive financial support from AECF REACT.
Last week, DFID Africa Minister Harriet Baldwin, MP, announced the recipients of the funding at an event in Lusaka
.
General Manager Kazang said, "We are delighted to be one of only three companies and look forward to bringing Azuri's innovative solar technology to off-grid communities
in Zambia.

Kazang Solar is a sister company
of Kazang, Zambia's largest electronic vending service provider.
Kazang serves more than 100,000 customers every day and has a nationwide footprint

The unique partnership between Kazang, Kazang Solar and Azuri means that customers in traditionally underserved rural areas have access to not only reliable solar lighting, but also a range of digital financial services
.
The CEO of Azuri said, "This is an exciting new development for Kazang and Azuri as both companies strive to provide reliable solar home solutions
for homes in Zambia.
The fund supports innovation and transformation of business models
characterized by the Azuri and Kazang ways.
Azuri looks forward to working with and providing ongoing support to Kazang as they deliver life-changing solar technology
