The 54th International Chemistry Olympiad opens in Tianjin

　　On July 10, the 54th International Chemistry Olympiad opened at Nankai University in Tianjin

In the next 9-day competition, nearly 1,000 participants from 84 countries and regions around the world will gather in the cloud to compete in the world's largest and most influential youth chemistry competition with "chemistry" as the medium

　　This competition is jointly sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, and jointly organized by Nankai University, the Chinese Chemical Society, the Youth Science and Technology Center of the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Tianjin Association for Science and Technology

The competition will be held in the form of theoretical examinations, covering inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, structural chemistry, analytical chemistry,
etc.
According to the arrangement, from 14:00 to 24:00 on July 13th, Beijing time, each team will arrange a 5-hour examination within the above time zone according to the time zone

The exam will be invigilated online and offline to ensure fairness and impartiality

At the same time, in order to allow competitors from various countries and regions to experience chemical experimental operations on the cloud, this competition also prepared 1 experimental question and 6 online virtual simulation experiments, using computer simulation, virtual reality and other technologies to realize theory and experiment.
