The reporter learned from the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the 100-megawatt advanced compressed air energy storage demonstration power station located in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, successfully realized grid-connected power generation
on September 30.
The project can generate more than 132 million kWh of electricity per year, which will effectively promote the development of compressed air energy storage technology and industry in
China.
The project is based on the construction of advanced compressed air energy storage technology originally developed by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the autonomy rate of core equipment has reached 100%.
With a total scale of 100 MW/400 MWh, the project can provide power guarantee for about 50,000 households at the peak of electricity consumption, saving 42,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 109,000 tons
per year.
"Energy storage technology is a key technology to achieve large-scale renewable energy consumption, improve the flexibility of thermal power units, improve the safety and stability of distributed energy systems, and is the core supporting technology
to achieve the goal of 'double carbon'.

in traditional compressed air energy storage systems.
According to reports, advanced compressed air energy storage technology has the advantages of large scale, low cost, long life, clean and pollution-free, unrestricted energy storage cycle, no dependence on fossil fuels and geographical conditions, etc.
