    Thailand's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released an updated draft of its plastic food contact materials (FCM) standards in January, planning to set stricter migration limits for 20 heavy metals in 13 plastic FCMs
    .
    The public consultation ended on March 4
    .
    The draft proposal:

    l Reduce the overall migration limit (OML) of 13 plastics to 10mg/dm 2 ;

    l revision of migration limits for various plastic polymers;

    l setting limits on the use of primary aromatic amines (PAAs);

    l Allows the use of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET)
