Telefónica plans to cover 30% of Germany's population with 5G services this year

Telefonica Deutschland recently revealed that it is accelerating its 5G network deployment, with the goal of covering 30% of the German population this year and achieving full coverage
in Germany by 2025.

At present, the company already provides related services
in more than 30 cities in Germany through a network of around 1,000 antennas.
In 2021, the company will install 6,000 antennas, as well as thousands using the 700MHz and 1800MHz
bands.

Telefónica revealed plans to launch a 5G standalone network (5G SA) by the end of 2021, noting that it is reassigning its 3G frequencies to its 4G networks to close the LTE coverage gap in rural areas and increase capacity
nationwide.
