Tata Power Solar Systems announced Wednesday that it has expanded annual cell and module production capacity at its plant in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, to 1,100 megawatts

Specifically, the solar company has increased the production capacity of cells from 300 MW to 530 MW and modules from 400 MW to 580 MW.
Notably, these lines can handle wafers from 166 mm to 210 mm, with module wattages between 440 W and 530 W, and the option of double-sided modules

Tata Power Solar explained that with the local demand for solar modules increasing significantly, the government has recently announced supportive policy measures and has therefore decided to increase production capacity to cope with the growth
in demand in the domestic market.
The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, not only manufactures photovoltaics but also acts as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor

As at April 1, 2021, the company had outstanding orders totalling Rs 1,000 crore
