The low-temperature methanol washing section uses methanol solution to remove acid gases such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide from the process gas, and is the main purification unit
for ammonia production.
Under high load conditions, the T-1601 tower has slight liquid flooding phenomena such as high temperature, large pressure difference, and liquid level fluctuations, which cause problems such as excessive sulfur content in severe cases, resulting in difficulty in improving ammonia and urea systems

After many on-site visits and exchanges, Shaanhua Company organized the technical team to decide to "tailor-made" the new tower, redesign the tower, and put forward the transformation ideas on the form, material, and opening rate of the tray, that is, optimize the opening form of the floating valve and increase the opening rate

In July this year, Shaanxi Chemical Company took advantage of the annual overhaul opportunity to complete the renovation and replacement of the tower tray, and reinstalled
the internal lowering pipe, overflow weir and collection tank of the tower.

After the completion of the transformation, the pressure difference of the low-temperature methanol washing T-1601 scrubber tower decreased, the liquid level of each layer of the tower tray was stable, the temperature points in the tower decreased compared with before, and the process gas index was stable
after purification.
