In order to cope with the problem of curtailment of light, Sunshine Samsung proposed the solution of connecting energy storage systems on the photovoltaic DC side for the first time in the world, and successfully applied it to the 100MW photovoltaic power station
in Suzhou Zhongkang and Jinchang, Gansu.
At present, the project has completed the commissioning work and is running smoothly on the grid

Sunshine Samsung provided a full set of design solutions for the project, including 2 sets of Sunshine Samsung PowCube 550 energy storage system, which adopts a 20-foot container integration design, each container integrates 550kWh Samsung ternary lithium battery, DC converter, BMS, intelligent temperature control, automatic fire protection, power distribution, communication and other complete equipment, and adopts DC side access scheme
.
The so-called DC side access means that the energy storage system
is connected in parallel at the DC bus end of the photovoltaic module and the photovoltaic inverter without changing the original equipment and configuration of the existing photovoltaic power station.
The energy storage system deposits excess power into the battery near the limited power line, sends out the stored power during a slightly idle time of the power grid, and cycles charging and discharging once a day, which has the following advantages: First, there is no need to re-declare the grid-connected procedures, and the battery charging can be automatically and flexibly controlled with the limited power condition
.
Second, there is no need for new transformers and energy storage inverters, and the use of
cables is reduced.
Third, using high-energy density Samsung ternary lithium battery and patented air duct design and temperature control system, the battery life cycle is long, and the number of 100% DOD cycles exceeds 6000 times
.
Fourth, it adopts a standard container design, which can be moved and recycled in different limited power stations

Fifth, the energy storage system can flexibly configure battery capacity according to the emission restriction situation, and completely solve the problem
of emission limiting.
