    Sunseap International, a subsidiary of Singapore-based Sunseap Group, has begun construction of a 186MW, $150 million solar farm
    in Vietnam.
    It is understood that the project is the largest photovoltaic project
    in the ASEAN region.

     

    The groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held on 186 hectares of land in Ninh Thuan province on the south-central coast of Vietnam
    .
    The solar farm is expected to be put into commercial operation
    in June 2019.
    Once completed, the project will generate enough electricity to power 200,000 households in Vietnam and create long-term employment
    for more than 200 local workers.

    Sunseap will work with its joint venture partner InfraCo Asia, the infrastructure development and investment arm of the Private Infrastructure Development Group, and Canada-based solar developer CMX Renewable Energy Canada, to develop solar power

    In the next 20 years, Vietnam's State Grid has set a solar feed-in tariff of $0.
