Recently, a reporter learned from Starbucks that starting today, more than 850 Starbucks stores in Shanghai will be the first to introduce the "slag pipe", a biodegradable straw containing extracted coffee powder for cold drinks.
This biodegradable "slag tube" uses an advanced process to recycle the extracted coffee powder, combined with a safe and widely commercialized food contact grade polylactic acid material (PLA), within 4 months.
This is another innovative attempt by Starbucks to reuse the extracted coffee powder
Simultaneously with the "slag tube", which will be unveiled at Starbucks Shanghai stores, there are also reusable store-use cold drink cups, which are also expected to cover all mainland stores in China by the end of this year
In addition, continuing the tradition of the annual Earth Day, from 11:00 to 12:00 on April 22, Starbucks will provide a total of 200,000 cups of medium oat latte and more fresh filter coffee for free to customers who bring their own cup
