South Korea's Hyosung plans to start production of a 600,000-ton/year propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit in southern Vietnam from July to August 2021, according to CommoPlast's reference market
.
The start-up of the company's new PDH unit will enable it to start up a second PP plant with a capacity of 300,000 tonnes/year at the same location
.
The company already has the same production capacity in South Vietnam, the first PP plant using an external source of propylene
.
The plant was shut down on July 9, 2021, due to an unknown technical issue, and it is expected to stop production within three to four weeks
.
