South Korea has signed a $2.
2 billion deal with Rosatom, Russia's state-owned atomic energy company, to support
a new nuclear power plant in Egypt.
State-owned Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Company won a contract to supply construction, equipment and materials for Egypt's El Dabaa project, according to a
statement from South Korea's Energy Ministry.
The South Korean company became the sole bidder for the El Dabaa project section in December 2021 and will build the buildings and structures
of the Turbine Island for these units between 2023 and 2029.
