Solliance, a European thin-film solar cell-related technology alliance, announced that it has developed a perovskite solar module
measuring approximately 15 cm square.
The module conversion efficiency is 10%, which is very high
among modules of the same area.
The opening area is 168 cm2, which is nearly 13 cm square
.
The module is made by forming a film such as an active layer on a glass substrate by applying a scraper to a scraper, and then using a laser to create a pattern
on 25 battery cells.
The cells are connected
in series using Solliance's unique wiring technology.
The technology focuses on making perovskite solar modules
of almost any area with a conversion efficiency of about 10% by connecting multiple battery cells.
At present, the highest conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells is 22.
1%, which was developed by the Korea Chemical Research Institute (KRICT) and Ulsan University of Science and Technology (UNIST), but its unit area is only 0.
1cm2
.
If the area of the battery cells and modules is enlarged, the conversion efficiency will decrease
.
Solliance plans to build on this new technology and strive to improve conversion efficiency
in the future.
The organization stated that "we are confident that we can achieve module efficiency of more than 15% in the near future"
