Japanese conglomerate SoftBank Group will pour $100 billion
into Indian solar projects through a fund backed by the Saudi Arabian government, Japan's public broadcaster NHK reported.
SoftBank Group will invest $100 billion in solar projects in India
Tokyo-based SoftBank Group will sign a formal agreement with the Indian government to invest between
$60 billion and $100 billion.
Just last month, Indian media reported that SoftBank Group has partnered with Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd.
IL&FS to develop more than 20 GW of grid-connected solar projects
in Asian countries by 2025.
The partnership was announced
after SoftBank Group agreed in April to form a 4 GW solar manufacturing joint venture with GCL Holdings in India.
In 2015, SoftBank Group pledged to invest $20 billion in Indian solar projects
with India's Bharti Enterprises and Foxconn Technology Co.
