A few days ago, the fuel oil company in Nansha Port, Guangzhou, for China's first independently developed and built methanol dual-fuel ship for the first voyage of 90 tons of methanol fuel, becoming China's first methanol fuel refueling operation of the ship fuel supply enterprise

The vessel is the first ship of the 49,900-ton methanol dual-fuel chemical/refined oil product tanker independently developed and built by China Shipbuilding Group's Guangzhou Shipbuilding International, equipped with the world's leading methanol dual-fuel drive system, which can control the combustion state to reduce exhaust emissions

It is reported that in the absence of a ship filling methanol program to learn from, the fuel oil company combined with the actual situation on the spot to formulate a "ten-step method" for connecting the "unloading vehicle to the ship" through the dock shoreline, and successfully completed China's first marine methanol fuel supply business

Compared with fuels such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), methanol is more convenient for storage and transportation, lower in infrastructure renovation costs, and has significant cost and safety advantages, making it a marine fuel alternative with high feasibility, low carbon emissions and low cost
