On September 17, witnessed by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Sinopec and SIBUR signed a memorandum of understanding on nitrile rubber (NBR) project cooperation and SEBS (hydrogenated rubber) in .

Nitrile rubber has good corrosion resistance and is an important raw material for various oil-resistant industrial rubber produc.

According to the agreement, Sinopec and SIBUR will jointly build a new nitrile rubber plant with a production capacity of 50,000 tons/year in China, with a shareholding ratio of 60%: 40%; and will build a new joint venture in Russia with a production capacity of no less than 20,000 tons/ye.
