Siemens announced today that it has secured a long-term service and maintenance agreement
from a gas-fired power plant in Panama.
The deal follows Siemens signed a contract earlier this year to supply six SGT-800 gas turbines for a new project that is also Panama's first order
for such units.
The service and maintenance agreement was signed with Shanghai Gorgeous Group, an independent power producer, through its subsidiary Sinolam Smarter Energy, which is the Panamanian end-user
for the project.
Siemens says its service and maintenance programs will provide high availability and performance
through proactive planning for continuous monitoring and remote support.
This is another milestone
in Siemens' continued support for Latin America's energy infrastructure.
"The continued reliability of the Sinolam Smarter Energy power plant is critical
as Panama strives to strengthen its energy infrastructure," said Vice President of Siemens Latin American Power Generation Services.
”
The plant will use liquefied natural gas and will commission power blocks
in 2020.
