Several big-name offshore wind operators have entered Taiwan this year, signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) and set up headquarters, including MHI Vestas and Siemens Gamesa
.
This week, Siemens announced in its communiqué that it signed 10 memorandums of understanding in Taipei on Wednesday, including working
with six global Tier 1 suppliers and four local suppliers.
The signing of the MoU marks Siemens Gamesa's commitment to the region, with the signed MoU covering all products
such as processing, control systems, coolers and more.
"We are encouraged by the Taiwan localization plans of our major suppliers and the growth plans of local suppliers," said Andreas Nauen, CEO of Siemens Gamesa's Renewable Energy Offshore Division, "The growing offshore wind market in the region requires sound, well-established partnerships to achieve ambitious development goals
