The elephant trunk 110 kV substation is a key municipal construction project
supporting Minjiang New District, Yibin City.
Minjiang New Area is located in the north of Yibin City, the total land area of the start-up area is 21.
95 square kilometers, can accommodate a population of about 150,000 people, the future new area mainly includes district-level administrative center, urban public facilities, industrial service area (business, trade, hotel), planned as the core area of Minjiang New Area and the north gateway area
of Yibin City.

With the development and construction of Minjiang New Area, the power load of the area has grown rapidly, with a maximum load of 39 MW in 2015 and is expected to reach 45 MW in 2017
.
However, at present, there is only one 35 kV substation (2×6.
3 megavolt amperes) in the area, and the existing 35 kV substation and power supply network are difficult to meet the increased demand
for electricity.
In order to meet the needs of the construction and development of Minjiang New Area, improve the reliability and quality of power supply, enhance power supply capacity, combined with the development plan of Yibin power grid, it is urgent to establish the construction
of the elephant trunk 110 kV power transmission and transformation project.

Under the active efforts of State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company and State Grid Yibin Power Supply Company, the station was included in the first batch of 110 (66) kV modular intelligent substation pilot projects of the State Grid Corporation in August 2014, and is the first modular intelligent substation
in Sichuan Province.
State Grid Yibin Power Supply Company carefully organized, explored experience, summarized achievements, found shortcomings, and strived to promote the construction of engineering projects, playing an important demonstration role
in building Sichuan's strong smart grid.

Project manager Hao Fangliang introduced to reporters that the construction of the 110 kV elephant trunk modular intelligent substation is carried out in accordance with the mode of "standardized design, factory processing, and modular construction", and the main parts of the equipment and civil construction are prefabricated and processed by the factory, distributed in the whole cabin, hoisted in place on site, and assembled as a whole
like "lap wood" 。 Compared with the conventional 110 kV intelligent substation, the modular intelligent substation station body is miniaturized, the station structure is more compact, the project floor area is reduced by 10~20%, the construction area is reduced by 15~30%, and the number of secondary screen cabinets is reduced by 20~35%, which greatly saves land resources and greatly improves the efficiency
of engineering construction.
In the exclusion subject to the influence of external environmental factors, it can be completed in 5-6 months, and the construction period can be reduced by 50~60%; Dramatically improve overall performance
