Recently, oil tanker Shell has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA)
with Italy for a portfolio of 70.
5 MW of unsubsidized solar projects.
The five-year agreement with British investor Octopus is for the supply
of electricity for six projects currently under construction in Italy.
It is expected to be completed
in early 2019.
A total of ten projects are underway at Octopus with a total capacity of 173 MW
.
"This is a landmark agreement for Octopus as we continue to extract value
from Italy's subsidy-free solar portfolio through innovative partnerships like this one," said the head of Octopus' energy investment team.

In 2018, Shell signed several solar PPA contracts, including a 15-year 100MW deal realised in California and a 5-year power deal
for the UK's largest solar farm.
