Shell has announced that it will build two waste plastic chemical recycling plants in the Netherlands by 2023 to produce pyrolysis oil feedstock for its steam crackers in Moerdijk, the Netherlands, and Rheinland, Germany
.
Shell expects that two waste plastic chemical recycling plants will convert more than 30,000 tons of waste plastics per year into pyrolysis raw materials
.
It is reported that the two factories will be jointly constructed by Shell Ventures, a strategic investment subsidiary of Shell, and BlueAlp, a plastic waste recycling specialist
.
In addition, Shell said it was also looking into the possibility of building two other pyrolysis units in Asia, which could supply feedstock at the Singapore chemical park
.
