SGL Carbon says it has delivered its millionth glass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP) leaf spring for automotive suspensi.

With this fully automatic, scalable series production of leaf springs based on glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP), SGL Carbon offers one of the most widely used composite components in the automotive indust.

Erik Johansson, senior design engineer at Volvo Cars, said: "Compared to traditional steel leaf springs, the new leaf springs can significantly reduce the weight of our mode.
