Davis-Standard has introduced a new compact extruder CHP designed for extrusion coating applications
.
The machine features a sleek design with a small footprint and low weight for adding to existing bay or platform structures
.
This provides processors with space-saving alternatives or co-extrusion additions to increase throughput and line speeds
.
“This design reduces raw material loss while the machine is running, increases throughput and allows for more application development
.
Compared to conventional extruders, CHP offers superior performance, optimized transition times and increased processing rates, helping improve profitability
for converters,” said Danis Roy, vice president of film sales and flexible packaging at Davis Standard
.
According to reports, CHP extrusion sizes range from 2 inches (52 mm) to 100 mm
.
Its high-efficiency mixing meets low pressure and melt temperature variations, and output rates are 80% to 100% higher than current extruders
.
Additionally, the 3:1 reduction in dwell time and faster cleaning between resin and color supports fast changeovers and minimizes the impact of raw material loss
.
Davis Standard has a CHP extruder at its laboratory facility in Pawcatuck, Connecticut, for customers to test and validate processing opportunities before purchasing
