Saudi Arabia, the world's largest crude oil exporter, announced on Sunday that it will launch an eco-city
with "zero cars, zero streets and zero carbon emissions" in its future NEOM megaproject.
The $500 billion NEOM project, which will begin construction along Saudi Arabia's picturesque Red Sea coast, is hailed as a symbol of the development of
a tech city.

According to a statement from NEOM, the city will offer schools, medical centers, green spaces, and high-speed public transportation, and the trip is not expected to take more than 20 minutes

AI will play a key role in the city, the statement said, "it will be powered by 100% clean energy to provide residents with a pollution-free, healthier and more sustainable environment"

Construction of the city will begin in the first quarter of this year, with funding from the Public Investment Fund, the main means by which the kingdom will diversify
its economy beyond oil.
The project is expected to create 380,000 jobs by 2030 and contribute 180 billion riyals ($48 billion)
to Saudi Arabia's GDP.
