RWE, Europe's third-largest renewable energy group, said on Wednesday it had made an investment decision
on its £3 billion ($4.
1 billion) Sofia offshore wind farm project.
According to reports, Sofia offshore wind farm is located 195 kilometers from the northeast coast of the United Kingdom, with an installed capacity of 1.
4 GW, which is the largest offshore wind farm project of Rheinland Group and is expected to be completed
in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Sven Utermoehlen, Chief Operating Officer of Global Wind Energy at RWE Renewables, said: "The successful development of a project of this scale is yet another testament to our expertise and proven track record
in delivering innovative, cost-effective offshore wind energy on a global scale.

It is reported that Siemens Gamesa, a large-scale offshore wind turbine manufacturer, will provide 100 14 MW high-power offshore wind turbines
for the project.
