On November 27, Russia said that in the face of Western countries setting a price cap on Russian oil, Russia will maintain its original position, take its own interests as a guide, and will not conduct oil and gas transactions
with countries that impose price limits on Russia.
Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov pointed out in a live TV program in Russia on the 27th that if the West imposes a price limit on Russian energy, Russia will be guided by its own interests
.
Peskov also stressed that the previous position of Russian President Vladimir Putin on not trading oil and gas with countries that impose price restrictions on Russia remains unchanged
.
In September, the G7 announced an agreement
to impose restrictions on the price of Russian oil.
According to the agreement, the G7 will impose price limits on Russian crude oil from December 5 and Russian refined petroleum products from February 5 next year
.
In this regard, Putin said that the G7 proposal to restrict oil imports from Russia and set a price cap on Russian oil can only cause oil prices to soar
like natural gas prices.
TASS said in the report that some European experts said that Russia may stop supplying oil to countries that join the mechanism, which will lead to a sharp increase in global market prices, unless other oil-producing countries increase production
