In the first eight months of 2021, Russia imported a total of 42,700 tonnes of suspended polyvinyl chloride (SPVC), a 20% increase year-on-year.
Meanwhile, exports fell 13%, according to MRC's DataScope report.
Russia's SPVC imports exceeded 14,000 tonnes last month from 8,700 tonnes in July.
Good seasonal demand and a shortage of polymers from Russian producers led to a surge in imports in July-August.
Total imports for the first eight months of 2021 were 42,700 tonnes, compared to 35,700 tonnes in the same period last year.
Driven by high prices in foreign markets, Russian SPVC exports surged in May before permanently declining in the following months.
6,100 tonnes of PVC were exported in August, compared with 11,800 tonnes a month earlier.
From January to August 2021, the total export volume was 127,300 tons, compared with 145,500 tons in the same period last year.
