News on August 3 After a prolonged period of price declines, Russian high-density polyethylene (HDPE) prices began to rise at the end of June

This situation is exacerbated by tighter supplies due to lower volumes of imported materials as seasonal demand increases

Some sellers have opted to suspend sales of polyethylene (PE) over the past two weeks as global HDPE prices rose and the ruble depreciated against the dollar in June, further limiting the available material

Nonetheless, sales from external suppliers are still limited in some areas, especially affecting black pipe grade PE100

Export sales of extrusion-grade polyethylene also rose as demand recovered in June after falling in April-May

Some sellers began limiting sales in mid-July, and in some cases, feedback indicated that sales were halted entirely due to low inventory

The injection-molded HDPE market remained balanced, with initial signs of price increases in August

Blow-molded HDPE is quoted at RUB 79,500/t (freight to Moscow, including VAT)
