    Rosneft issued a statement on the same day, saying that the company signed an agreement with the national oil company of Cuba as early as 2014, when the two sides agreed to cooperate
    in the field of mature oil field exploitation.
    Cuba's Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, said in May that Cuba wants to sign oil exploration contracts with French companies, cooperate in the form of risk exploration, production sharing, and also intend to cooperate
    with France in the areas of modernization of the refinery in Santiago de Cuba, asphalt extraction and personnel training.
