ROHM Chemical Reconstruction and Expansion Project was approved; including MMA, PMMA and other devices

On February 21, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment announced the proposed approval for the renovation and expansion project of ROHM Chemicals (Shanghai) Co.

In response to changes in the raw material and product market, ROHM Chemicals plans to carry out technical transformation or capacity expansion through multiple sets of devices throughout the project

The following are the main contents of the construction of the project:

(1) MMA plant raw material diversification project (MMA plant technical transformation): Utilize the surplus of the existing MMA production equipment double refining tower, rectify the purchased MMA, in order to achieve the purpose of producing MMA products through different raw materials

(2) Product upgrading and transformation project of methacrylate special monomer factory (BUMA device technical transformation): the existing BUMA device will be transformed to increase its function of producing new product EHMA

(3) Three-line project of polymethyl methacrylate production unit (KP3 line): On the basis of the existing two PMMA production lines, a new PMMA production line, namely KP3 line, will be built, with a designed capacity of 20,000t/a

(4) Converting the polymethyl methacrylate coloring test line to a formal production line (PICOC line expansion): Convert the existing PICOC line of a PMMA coloring test line in the PC unit to a formal production line, and the annual operating time will be extended to 8500h/a ( Among them, 288h is the cleaning time) to achieve capacity expansion

This reconstruction and expansion project mainly uses the existing technology, no new technology is added, the environmental protection project should rely on or copy the existing environmental protection facilities, and the public and auxiliary projects basically rely on the existing ones
