According to reports, there are about 700 species of organisms in nature that can emit light by themselves, mainly including luminescent bacteria in microorganisms, marine organisms such as jellyfish, squid, fish, shrimp, a few insects such as fireflies, very few plant species and some fungi groups
There are currently 108 species of luminescent fungi reported in the world.
The scientific question of why fungi emit light is still inconclusive
