From October 31 to November 1, an expert innovation lecture on the theme of "New Energy Industry Technology Development" was held in Datong, Shanxi.
At present, carbon emissions from global energy consumption have increased significantly, and clean and low-carbon renewable energy has replaced fossil energy such as coal as an important measure of energy transition.
Ren Zhiwu, a member of the National Energy Administration Party Group and deputy director, said that in the practice of transforming the old and new energy systems, China has promoted the leapfrog development of new and renewable energy and has become the backbone of China's energy structure adjustment and economic transformation and upgrading.
According to Ren Zhiwu, as of the end of September 2020, China's installed renewable energy power generation capacity reached 837 million kilowatts; among them, hydropower installed capacity was 365 million kilowatts, wind power installed capacity was 223 million kilowatts, photovoltaic power generation installed capacity was 223 million kilowatts, and biomass power generation installed capacity was 26.
Ren Zhiwu suggested that we should clarify the short-term and medium-term goals, promote the development of a high proportion of new energy and renewable energy, actively expand the connotation and extension of new energy, continue to increase technological innovation in the field of new energy, and promote the construction of new power with a high proportion of renewable energy.
In his report entitled "China’s Energy Low-Carbon Transition", Jiang Yi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor of Tsinghua University, pointed out that the realization of the energy structure transformation, from fossil energy to low-carbon energy structure, is to achieve energy security, solve air pollution, The only way to achieve zero emissions reduction.
In September of this year, China announced that it would increase its nationally determined contributions, adopt more powerful policies and measures, strive to reach its peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, and strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
Zheng Shengan, president of the General Institute of Hydropower and Water Conservancy Planning and Design, believes that long-term low-carbon development is primarily to save and provide energy efficiency, and reduce total energy consumption.
This lecture was hosted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the National Energy Administration, and the People's Government of Shanxi Province, and undertaken by the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Shanxi Province, the Energy Bureau of Shanxi Province, the People's Government of Datong City, and the General Institute of Hydropower and Water Conservancy Planning and Design.
