ReNeuvo Group, a rubber recycling technology company based in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, said it is selecting a state in Mexico for its first international plant
.
The company added that it has reached strategic partnerships that include exclusive licensing rights to bring its technology from Canada to Mexico, Brazil and India
.
ReNeuvo says it uses a proprietary formulation of reprocessed recycled rubber crumbs and plastic materials to produce thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) materials that can replace TPE materials made from virgin compounds
.
The company says its XyloX products do not require any additives or adhesives and that "bonds are formed at the molecular level.
" XyloX itself is also 100 percent recyclable, Reyeuvo said, reducing the need for traditional elastomers to landfill
.
Jose M.
Gonzalez, president and CEO of ReNeuvo Group Inc.
, said XyloX can be pelletized for injection molding or extruded into profiles with the added benefit of incorporating the elastic properties of rubber
.
Gonzalez added: "It's easier to mold, has more consistent properties, and reduces processing costs and energy requirements
.
The company said the ReNeuvo Brant plant in its hometown of Brantford will produce about 45,000 tonnes of XyloX TPE in 2021
.
"As government initiatives to create 'green' products continue to grow, we believe our products will dominate the market for a new, environmentally friendly TPE that contains no additives or adhesives and can reach global markets," said Gonzalez
