After extensive testing, battery company Redflow (Brisbane, Australia) and energy storage management provider Redback Technologies Ltd announced that their technology is compatible and can provide more efficient energy solutions
for Australian homes.
Battery integrated smart hybrid solar PV inverter
Redflow's new ZCell home battery, launched in March 2016, is a 10-kilowatt-hour (kWh) mobile battery that can be time-shifted solar power from day to night, storing off-peak power to ensure peak power demand and support off-grid systems
.
Redflow and Redback can fully integrate ZCell batteries with Redback's smart hybrid solar PV inverter system to manage the energy supply
for the grid, solar PV panels and battery management.
ZCell and Redback inverters will enable home and commercial customers to use more self-generated electricity and save costs
.
With feed-in tariffs shrinking, Australia's home energy system needs to be smarter
Australia is transitioning to a low-emission energy system, with one in five homes equipped with solar
energy.
Due to the popularity of home solar PV systems in recent years, the government plans to reduce the solar bonus scheme subsidy, and the NSW scheme will end
on December 31, 2016.
The feed-in tariff will be reduced by 38.
8 per minute from 44 per kWh to 5.
2 per kWh per minute
.
This means that home energy systems will need to be smarter and more efficient to ensure superior performance
.
Redflow has conducted extensive testing in the Adelaide Battery Lab to ensure that the ZCell can operate quickly and integrate easily with the Redback Smart Hybrid Solar Inverter System
