RAMPF has created technology to recycle Polyurethane (PU) waste generated by foam manufacturers and process it in a multifunctional plant, converting it into polyols
    .
The technology will be on display at the Foam Expo July 13-15 in Novi, Michigan

    .

RAMPF is a pioneer in the recycling of polyurethane waste
    .
For over three decades, the company has been developing chemical processes to upgrade post-consumer polyurethane foam waste from used mattresses, furniture, car seats, motorcycle seats, insulation, and fitness and leisure products into high-quality polyol

    .

By using dissolution methods (glycolysis, acidolysis and aminolysis), the recovered polyols are at least comparable to those obtained from virgin raw materials, both in terms of quality and technical characteristics
    .
RAMPF’s recycled polyols are precisely tailored to the customer’s production setup and can therefore be used directly in the production process of new products

    .

In addition, RAMPF has developed chemical processes that enable PET/PSA, other polyesters (PLA, PC, PHB), as well as renewable or bio-based feedstocks such as vegetable oils, as feedstock sources for the production of bio-based regenerated polyols
    .

The company also provides comprehensive advice in polyurethane recycling and the development of custom polyols
    .
Polyurethane system formulations and contract manufacturing of moulded parts using RAMPF recycled polyols are further products in the portfolio

    .

    Versatile Recycling Plant

By combining its experience in chemical conversion with the expertise of its partners in the construction of industrial plants, RAMPF has been very successful in the international market to offer a unique product: the development of multifunctional recycling plants for customers
    .
Using their own custom in-house plant and polyurethane waste, PET, phthalic anhydride and polyisocyanurate, companies can manufacture their own high-quality recycled polyols on-site and use them in the production process

    .
By doing so, they can reduce costs and contribute to protecting the environment

    .

Shakti Mukerjee, RAMPF’s R&D Manager, said: “RAMPF chemical solutions and multifunctional plants guarantee top-notch products and reduce reliance on volatile markets and consumption of raw materials and energy
    .
Our technology represents a cycle of cycles that can bring environmental and economic benefits
