has selected LP Oxoˢᵐ technology for its new isononanol production unit

Isononyl alcohol is commonly used in the manufacture of diisononyl phthalate (DINP), diisononyl adipate (DINA) and trimethylol triisonononanoate (TINTM) plasticizers
.

John Gordon, Managing Director of Johnson Matthey, said: "This facility will be the 56th LP Oxoˢᵐ process technology project we have licensed in partnership with Dow, and the new isononanol process will expand our licensed technology frontier

The plant will be located at the Qixiang Tengda integrated petrochemical base in Zibo City, China, with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons and is expected to be put into operation in 2023
.
To date, the LP Oxoˢᵐ technology has been licensed for multiple projects in 15 countries around the world, accounting for the vast majority of the world's technology-licensed production capacity for hydroxysynthetic alcohols over the past 45 years
