.
Recently, the General Administration of Investment and Free Zones of Egypt and the Qatar Investment Authority held a joint meeting and met with representatives of local companies in the Gulf countries to conduct in-depth communication and exchanges
on matters such as investment promotion.
Mohamed Abdel Wahab, head of the General Directorate of Investment and Free Zones in Egypt, discussed the multiple strategic projects in which the Qatar Investment Authority is involved and highlighted the possibility of
granting gold licenses to Qatari companies.
The Gold License is a single license granted to strategic projects that combines all construction and operational permits
required for project implementation.
Abdel Wahab also noted that Egypt has introduced a series of incentives to support the development of a green economy, artificial intelligence and innovation, and to simplify procedures
for investors.
The two sides agreed to continue cooperation and exchange data
on investment opportunities in Egypt that the Qatari side will explore.
For its part, the Qatar Investment Authority pledged to provide support to Gulf companies intending to
enter the Egyptian market.
