    Prysmian's subsidiary, North Deutsche Submarine Cable (NSW), has been awarded a contract from Northwester NV to develop an undersea internal array power cable system
    for the Northwester 2 offshore wind farm in the North Sea of Belgium.

    NSW will design, produce and deliver 25 km of 33 kV submarine power cables for internal array cables
    for the Northwester 2 offshore wind farm developed by Parkwind.
    Parkwind is a company
    that develops, finances, constructs and operates offshore wind farms.
    NSW will also be responsible for cable termination and testing
    prior to commissioning.

    Delivery of the submarine cable is scheduled for summer 2019
    .

    Located about 50 kilometers northwest of Ostend, the Northwester 2 offshore wind farm includes 23 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries-Vestas' 164-9.
    5MW turbines that will generate 219 megawatts of electricity
    .
    Once completed in 2020, the wind farm will provide renewable energy
    to more than 220,000 homes.

    NSW was originally a subsidiary of General Cable and recently became part of Prysmian with the acquisition of
    General Cable.
