Italian cable manufacturer Prysmian recently said it has secured contracts worth more than 60 million euros from Denmark's Ørsted for Germany's 242 MW Gode Wind 3 and 900 MW Borkum Riffgrund 3 offshore wind projects
.
The contract covers the design, supply, termination and testing
of an inter-array submarine cable system for two wind farms to be built simultaneously in the North Sea of Germany.
The cable manufacturer will supply 66 kV array cables
totaling more than 150 km.
According to reports, Prysmann will produce the required cables
in Montero and Grun, France, and Nordenham in Germany.
Both projects are expected to be completed
in 2024.
Prysmian said the order adds to its portfolio of 66 kV inter-array cable systems, which include projects such as Borssele III and IV in Europe, Hornsea 2, Hollandse Kust Zuid 3 and 4 and large cables in Provence and Empire Wind in the United States
