He revealed that the Ministry of Science and Technology of China is accelerating the development of scientific and technological support for the achievement of China’s commitment to the international community’s carbon peak by 2030, carbon neutrality by 2060 and the green and low-carbon development goals set forth in the "14th Five-Year Plan".
Wang Zhigang said that the Ministry of Science and Technology of China appreciates the UK’s proposal for China and the UK to carry out pragmatic scientific and technological cooperation on decarbonization, emission reduction and sustainable development, and is willing to share the benefits of scientific and technological planning, policy tools, and action measures in the green and low-carbon field.
Jim McDonald pointed out that the Royal Academy of Engineering has been actively supporting the British government to use engineering systems thinking as an important tool to manage the multiple transformations that occur in the process of achieving net zero emissions targets.
