This indicates that the Northwest Crude Oil Pipeline, after more than two years of construction, has officially reached the 6 million tons/year reverse oil delivery capacity planned by the project.
In November 2018, the first phase of the reverse transmission and transformation project of the Northwestern Kazakhstan crude oil pipeline was launched.
After the preliminary construction, it was put into operation on June 17, 2020, reaching a reverse transmission capacity of 3 million tons/year; the second phase of the project started in December 2019 Construction, of which the newly-built Oman pumping station is a key project to ensure that the reverse oil delivery capacity reaches 6 million tons/year
